Green Day Previews Hollywood’s 2024 War on Trump

Hello Reader,

Happy 2024!

It's an election year (gulp!) and rockers Green Day just served up the perfect preview of what celebrities have in store for us over the next 11 months.

Can we skip to 2025 already??

Blue Collar Comedy legend Bill Engvall is calling it a career. He's been touring for 40+ years and kept his material clean during that remarkable span. Yet Engvall still cites the new woke order as one reason he's hanging up his mic.

Find out more in this Hollywood in Toto report.

This week's HiT 'cast features a chat with author Larry Correia of 'Monster Hunter International' fame. Larry has been battling MAGA nation on Twitter for weeks and has some war stories to share. Plus, we show how comedy could make a serious comeback in 2024 ... cross your fingers!

I just previewed a powerful new protest song tied to the Israel/Hamas situation. Can't say any more at the moment, but I'll be bringing you the details as soon as I can...

This week's new movies (January is a quiet month for new stuff!):

"Night Swim"

Coming soon to Peacock - 'In the Know'

Mike Judge of "King of the Hill"/"The Office" fame targets NPR with this audacious new sitcom. The series, featuring claymation-style action, promises to skewer liberal pieties. Here's the message the show's creative team sent to wretched scribes like me:

We’re privileged, well intentioned, guilty hypocrites. We buy ethically-sourced dog treats and have them delivered by people who are penalized for bathroom breaks. We put “No Justice No Peace” signs next to our home security lawn decals. We’re sanctimonious doofuses who should be ridiculed more.

Honest take? This trailer didn't grab me. But Judge is one of the few people who could pull a project like this off.

"In the Know" bows Jan. 25. Fingers crossed.

Let's wrap up the week with another killer 'news' story from The Babylon Bee...

Have a super week!

Hello Reader, Taylor Swift is the biggest star on planet Earth. Podcast king Joe Rogan defies our short-attention span age with his three-hour interviews. Two very different stars. Two distinct approaches to modern politics. Could their influence impact the coming Trump v. Biden rematch? Maybe. I explain why in an essay that speaks volumes about the state of our union (and it's not necessarily good!). President Joe Biden is clearly not well. Our 81-year-old Commander in Chief struggles to...

Hello Reader, Everybody remembers the Hollywood Blacklist, but few know about the new, not-so-improved version. I've spoken to my fair share of conservative artists who hide their political views for fear of losing work. It's real. It's scary. And it's deeply un-American. Just like the 1950s version. Now, some pro-Palestinian actors are getting pinched for sharing their political views. How is it different this time around? And what if the stars in question say absolutely ghastly things?...

Hello Reader, It's Friday already? Holiday weeks always throw me for a loop! I've had a hate/hate relationship with "The View" for some time now. It's hopelessly dumb, which could be fun to watch in some cases, but it rarely is. Plus, I think the show's unhinged rhetoric genuinely damages the country. So why does Whoopi and co. get a pass when Aaron Rodgers got (rightly) vilified for his dopey attack on Jimmy Kimmel? This story explains it all, and it's a good primer for the 2024 election...
